Virtual Collaboration Support

Helping people get through Teams and Zoom meetings without losing half the call to tech problems. Hybrid setup, troubleshooting and how-to guides.

The Work

Meetings run on Teams and Zoom now, especially when people can’t gather in person. I help make sure those meetings actually happen without tech becoming the main conversation. That means supporting Teams and Zoom for both regular meetings and larger virtual events, troubleshooting audio and video issues when they pop up, helping with setup for hybrid sessions, and guiding people who aren’t comfortable with the tools yet.

When audio cuts out mid-meeting or video won’t start, that’s my problem to solve. Usually quickly.

Why It Matters

Unreliable collaboration tools hurt productivity and frustrate everyone involved. When someone can’t get their video working, the meeting stops or degrades. When Zoom audio is choppy, communication breaks down. My job is to keep those tools working smoothly enough that people can focus on the actual work instead of fiddling with settings.

It also means helping people use the tools well: showing them where the settings are, explaining why a meeting code works, helping set up a hybrid room so remote attendees can actually see what’s happening on the whiteboard. Fixing the tools is half the job; helping people use them well is the other half.

What I’ve Learned

Nine times out of ten, it’s the local device before it’s the platform. Wrong microphone selected, browser is muted, permissions aren’t granted. I’ve learned to start with the basics every time. I’ve also learned that helping someone test their audio before the big meeting saves the meeting itself. And I’ve learned that when something is actually broken on the platform side, being able to quickly confirm that lets me guide people toward workarounds while the platform team fixes it.
